How does it work?
At Note Value, every student begins their journey with a personalized consultation. By getting to understand your personal interests, our Managing Director will pair you with an expert individual tutor, and develop a plan for you to engage with professionals across different musical niches in a comfortable lesson environment. Using this approach, we turn challenging or "boring" parts of the traditional music syllabus into engaging and enjoyable ventures.

We pride ourselves on catering to the needs of all students, and understand that musical education can encompass learning for fun, as practice for ensemble performances, as well as (for instance) for ABRSM exams and GCSE/A-Level specifications. Your tutor will ensure that your music education is holistic and helps you efficiently achieve your goals. This ensures that your practice and learning are avenues for expression, rather than onerous tasks to complete.
Recapitulation: Supporting Curiosity
Even if you had your heart set on only one instrument or performance style, at Note Value, we are most excited when students want to step out of their comfort zones. Part of your educational package at Note Value will include support whenever you decide to switch things up, and our managing director will be happy to amend your initial plan to help you seek musical joy wherever you want to find it.
The 'Exposition', 'Development' and 'Recapitulation' are the three sections that typically make up a Sonata, a common structure for instrumental and orchestral pieces!
